What is the origin of the Himalaya collection?

In 1950, Maurice Herzog and Lionel Terray reached the summit of Annapurna. For the first time in the History of Humanity, men conquer a peak above 8,000 meters, they are French, and it is with their LIP Himalaya watches that they check the time upon arrival above the “first 8,000”. Five years later, in the spring of 1955, the Himalayas achieved a new record on the arm of Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy, by making the first ascent of Makalu, the 5th highest peak in the world at 8,485 meters above sea level.

Two world records for the same watch model. LIP watches represent French watchmaking know-how. Each of the LIP timepieces represents a symbol of French history. It is in the LIP workshops in Besançon that master watchmakers design and assemble the French LIP automatic watches.
